Today, scientists tested out some experimental designs for ground based turrets with impressive results. Their tests included fast firing "Ripper" turrets and their experimental "Portal" turret, which has been in design for the last month.

These turrets were design to provide anti-air firepower, which would protect key locations and be able to discriminate between targets. The new Ripper Turret is a turret that literally rips apart enemies using injected energy, that fills up the target before reaching critical mass and exploding.

The Portal Turret, which was tested today, shoots what is now deemed as "Demon Portals" because they were discovered to unleash demons when used as gateways to this world. Thankfully, though, these portal guns can only send their targets to the demon realm, and can't bring back demons, so the targets are destroyed within the inhospitable demon realm.

The man who helped in testing stated, "They'll do the trick. When the Portal Turret fired it felt cold, and looked like a dark area with a hole in it where the shots came from. Although the tracking speed is still a tad wanting, but for now the rate of fire makes up for that. As well, they may want to try putting their turrets in more effective combinations, like make a triangle of the fast firing ones, around one big Portal Turret."

Unfortunately, power is still an issue for both turrets, and a "vein web" must be used to keep them powered, but tests are under way to have a portable generator within each turret. The good thing is that the vein web, cannot be seen because of how fast the turrets react to a threat, as said by the man doing the testing, "Power? No, didn't really have time to look, the instant I was in visual range they opened fire."

Another great value in combat is that both turrets can be deployed, and operational, in under 5 minutes, which means that they are a very good choice because of their quality and cheapness, as well as ease in placement. The turrets are not planned to be sold to civilians, but there is discussion underway for granting it to VIPs.
