A
few hours ago scientists announced they have successfully merged a human
with a dragon spirit through artificial means. This means big news to
individuals with guardians, but no means of merging, in that it
will now allow them to be together and bonded with their loved ones
indefinitely. This technology is available because of progress in the research of the older "Mind Drug" and through new advancements in scanning technology which has revealed a new discovery of its own. |

The
entire project was made possible because of an individual who found himself
merged with an eastern dragon named Kouryoo, and was required to
'unmerge'. After understanding his situation and doing heavy research he
requested a paramedic to supervise the separation and very soon the two
were standing next to each other. During the whole thing, it was discovered that the main spirit, or the core, was actually just an outer layer to a more individualized center. This functions like the CPU in a computer and is the only part that does not change during reincarnations and changes of form. A later imaging of a volunteer revealed that it had silver silk-like strands coming off it, and connecting to the mind, physical body, and the surrounding layer of energy known as the spirit. This object was named the Chandralis, after the Chandra X-ray Observatory. With the new understanding of the uses and workings of the Chandralis, scientists attempted to do a controlled merging between a human and a dragon who have both agreed to share a spirit but maintain separate minds. This was achieved successfully on the first attempt on the 24th of September at 7 p.m. eastern time. The only notable side effects were an increase in tension, as the body became accustomed to a foreign inhabitant. Further monitoring showed the procedure to have gone smoothly and the various human-dragon traits to have interacted very well. |
