The Current Situation - A Subjective View

A recent film prompted the author to, for a split moment, desire that one of the more abusive characters 'go to hell'. This, rather quickly, returned the response as to why that isn't a proper response, nor in-line with the current approach towards humanity and its development.

People choose their fate through action or inaction, and through how they 'place' the experiences within themselves; how they hold those experiences. Feelings of guilt serve to reinforce themselves, and knowingly pretending there is nothing to be guilty of creates the knowledge that one is avoiding a part of themselves. To be ignorant of one's actions is to be guilt free, thus in war it is beneficial for soldiers to be as disconnected from the act of killing others as possible.

The ideas of 'hell' and 'heaven' are a paradox, as the eternal part in eternal punishment is out of line with prevention or deterrence. Even if one contains absolutely all evils in 'hell' they will still exist, and removing them from existence invalidates the existence of 'good' as a concept; the idea being nothing more than a limited state of being, for lack of the full spectrum. Heaven itself seems to be described as some wonder camp catering to animal needs and necessities (feasting, sex, territorial control, exclusion, dominance - to name a few from cultures past and present), which runs contrary to lessons taught about shifting focus away from such pettiness. And once in 'heaven', the eternal nature of it results in a stagnant system that gives no room for change or cultivation of mind and spirit. These views do not of course cover all variations of heaven, but do shed light on flaws within the existing design (Even if an imaginary one).

The current impression is that angels are in a state of non-interferences and few, if any, beings have the power/authorization to make, break, or otherwise significantly alter a person without some part of them being accepting (In the cases of negative influences). The authorization part is whether a being's actions run with, or contrary to, whatever plan or rule is in place for human/Earth development. Supposedly a significant number of angels are adhering to these rules, but what the exact deterrence is is not yet known. As for power, it's rather apparent that we don't have people casting fireballs, lifting objects with their minds, and every twelve-year-old able to kill a yak with mind-bullets™ from 50 yards.

This is significant because this means that while we have spirits (both our own and other beings), and a significant percentage of the population is partaking in spiritual studies/development in one form or another, that the vast majority of spiritual 'stuff' is prevented from interacting with the physical world on the physical level. This has positive implications as now our survival rate is mostly based around our ability to cooperate, rather than the Will of the God(s)™, allowing us pay more attention to the environment (scientific observation) and develop new ways of slaughtering each other to pass the time (Invention and War). The negative points are that fewer people are capable of deep reflection because spiritual studies are given less and less importance as time goes by. The material world has even come up with material substitutes for spiritual experiences with drugs and phony religions toting phony rituals. Values and beliefs have changed towards the worship of physical objects and excess attention to physical representations of spiritual ideas, rather than the reasons/meanings behind them.

Rambling aside here is the point, spelled out. An individual is responsible for their own conduct and resultant fate upon expiry. The best approximation is the Egyptian model whereby a heart is weighed on a scale against the feather of truth. If a person's heart was heavy it was fed to Amenti and rendered non-existent. At the end of the line (be it at death, some point after death, 'judgment day', or some unknown point) a person would be aware of the truth behind their existence and how their actions affected everything around them (Think a ramped up Christmas Carol). How they (their True Self; freed of misconceptions, physical brain with its quirks, and suchlike) cope with it determines how they proceed; be it reincarnation, assimilation into a greater whole, or continuing existence as a spirit. The exact situation where this occurs is unknown, as is whether a third party handing down judgment is involved.

Angels are around, but generally not permitted to do anything rash as may have happened in days past. IE, no turning folks to pillars of salt, dragging them down to 'hell' (or equivalent state), or messing with the way humanity is progressing. They do still help individuals and groups, but mostly for them to 'get a leg up' and be able to progress on their own. Guiding people by the hand the whole way is discouraged among them.

As for the film, people will be assholes; even to the point of shooting, clubbing, exploding, manipulating and abusing each other and other creatures on Earth. These people may do it out of ignorance, greed, belief in no alternative, or just for the kick they get out of it. On Earth, it is the job of all the other people to see them brought to justice rather than to sit idly by and hope they go away. Backstage, such individuals go through the same processes as everyone else, meaning they will face what they have done and be required to ask themselves how to proceed. If they still feel the need to carry on with their ways in the next life, society is again responsible for dealing with them. If they become one the many other negative spirits then those of that existence must deal with them. There isn't a 'happy ending' as that's an entirely subjective concept, but as we are all in the same boat, with that thing called 'Free Will', we can choose to deal with the assholes in a way that either they stop being assholes, or they stop bothering us (be it a matter of removal or attitude). And remember; people and beings do change and grow; they don't always remain unpleasant and undesirable, else one has want of a hell to put them in.
